Meanwhile, a US laboratory is developing a ‘dream cell’ that partially runs on air. These innovations are fueled by the skyrocketing market for electric vehicles, with over a dozen nations declaring that all new cars must be electric by 2035 or earlier. However, the development of advanced car batteries must meet several requirements, including energy density, power for acceleration, fast recharge, long lifespan, wide temperature range, safety, and affordability.
