Direct On-Site Technical Assistance
CCAM-TAC’s Direct On-Site Technical Assistance offers communities a one-day facilitated opportunity to brainstorm strategies for overcoming persistent obstacles in solving transportation issues. CCAM-TAC works closely with applicant communities to plan a meeting in a way that:
- Enables learning and discussion for involved stakeholders,
- Strengthens connections between transportation and partners from other sectors (e.g., veterans care, health care, employment access, transportation, aging services, human service agencies), and
- Enables the adoption of transportation coordination and mobility management strategies that are responsive to the needs of older adults, people with disabilities, low-income individuals and families, and other underserved community members.

Eligibility
To be eligible for on-site technical assistance, the lead applicant must be a nonprofit or publicly funded agencies and be prepared to coordinate with the CCAM-TAC team to design and host the on-site meeting. The lead agencies must submit a letter of commitment from the director along with the application.
The applicant must explain the focus of the technical assistance by defining the service area and transportation needs of the people who live there. A service area can be as small as an neighborhood or a town, or as large as a county or group of counties, but not an entire state. The key in selecting a service area is that it reflects travel patterns and needs of the people who live there. For example, in rural areas, residents may routinely cross county lines for jobs and medical appointments, while in small urban areas most trips stay within the city limits.
