Preventing and treating cervical cancer at an early stage requires women to get regular screenings, including HPV and Pap tests. It also requires follow-up with an OB-GYN if test results are abnormal. But what happens when women can’t get to see a medical provider, either for routine tests or for follow-up care? Unfortunately, this is a reality for many people and transportation is a major barrier to getting this lifesaving care for many women, including those living in rural communities like mine.
