IOWA CITY — A new Johnson County transportation option will offer $2 curb-to-curb service throughout the Iowa City metro area…
Capital Area Rural Transportation System, a public transportation system that serves non-urbanized areas of nine Central Texas counties including Bastrop County, is set to use the city of Bastrop to debut its new on-demand ride service, CARTS Now.
The service, presented by CARTS General Manager David Marsh to the Bastrop City Council during its Nov. 10 meeting, will come in addition to the existing interconnected services offered by CARTS such as country bus, interurban coach and metro connector.
"This will be a micro-mobility project which will primarily give the customer an Uber-like experience, but with trained, certified drivers," Marsh said during his presentation to the council. "It will operate point-to-point, anywhere in the city," beginning Dec. 14.
