New initiative announced with Flint, United Way to remove barriers for workers

One hundred Flint residents will receive up to $1,000 each in an effort to remove barriers for workers in a new workforce development initiative with the City of Flint and United Way of Genesee County.

The funds will be used to address issues that Flint residents and workers have in getting jobs, moving up in their careers and other workplace-related issues. These can include childcare, transportation and certifications.
