Cherokee County, NC moves to app-based service for public transit

Cherokee County’s public transit service is replacing its fixed routes in Canton with microtransit, and is operating under a new name.

Cherokee Area Transit Service, formerly Cherokee Area Transportation System, is fully launching its microtransit service Feb. 15 after a soft rollout in January, the county announced.
