Pilot program transporting riders for just $1.50 in Birmingham looks to expand

A pilot program by the Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority launched in select areas in the City of Birmingham. "Max on Demand" is a microtransit service, similar to Uber or Lyft. Except it will take you to a corner near your location, not to the exact address, just like a bus, but it comes when you need it. The pilot program launched late May, and had completed 900 rides in the first three weeks.
